Ever played Jenga in church? How about Lego?

The Tower of Babel inspired the Up community to create one of the most diverse and active Up evenings. We had building competitions, Jenga tournaments with very large wooden blocks, and scaffolding to play around. Let's see... who can get the most glory by building the biggest tower?

Projected images of some of man's greatest building achievements (follies). Challenging newspaper artices of ways in which we play God (everything from plastic surgery to GM foods). These led the way to humbler activities.

In the highly linguistic spirit of Babel, we celebrated the wonderful diversity of the world's peoples. A tunnel of sound led the way into an area where Bibles in a myriad of languages and scripts were for inpection, as well as an introduction to the beautiful writing systems of the world.

The sound tunnel was awe-inspiring. It featured a carefully orchestrated soundtrack of John 1, read in many languages. It put all of our human achievements to shame.
